Why Mourn For The Dead?

Why Mourn For The Dead?
(A death poem by Wain)

Dear Beloved,

No more pain. No more suffering
No more struggle for daily b _ _ _ _
So why do I, why do we, mourn for the dead?

No more stress. No more anxiety
No more worry of COVID’s s _ _ _ _ _
So why do I, why do we, mourn for the dead?

No more anger. No more hate
No more fear of being m _ _ _ _ _
So why do I, why do we, mourn for the dead?

Love.

We miss the hugs. We miss the kisses
We miss the kind words that were s _ _ _
Love is why I, love is why we, mourn for the dead

We miss the smiles. We miss the laughter
We miss drinking and breaking b _ _ _ _
Love is why I, love is why we, mourn for the dead.

We miss the walks. We miss the talks
We miss the journey we planned a _ _ _ _
Love is why I, love is why we, mourn for the dead

Love makes life worth living
But remember this I pray:
Tomorrow might never come
So give love while you m _ _

Who will you love today?

Lots of love,

Wain
