Remember The Cord

Remember The Cord
(A Mother’s Day Poem by Wain)

Dear Mothers,

Belly button, navel
Whatever the name
The story it tells
Is always the _ _ _ _.

For nine long months
You lived in your mother’s womb
With “freedom of choice”
It could have been your _ _ _ _.

But your mother sacrificed
She made her body a safe space
She loved you deeply
Before she ever saw your _ _ _ _.

So, even if today has no flowers
You are still blessed by the Lord
To know that you are loved
Just remember the _ _ _ _.

Lots of love,

Wain
